Aside from
conference, Elder Lindley and I have a new investigator that we've been
starting to teach. She's an old lady named S who lives near a
couple of the members here in Surin. She's 86 years old and she's
seriously so awesome! She used to go to the Baptist church. She also has
a Cambodian caregiver that doesn't really speak Thai. Anyway, last
Sunday she came to church and later on that day, we taught her part of
the Restoration. We talked about baptism and she told us that she wants
to get baptized! We're going to keep on teaching her and helping her
understand the gospel so that she can get ready for her baptismal date.
Even though she may be old, she is still a daughter of God and she
deserves the opportunity to accept the gospel and get baptized.
Brother
A dropped us. He blocked our number which means he's probably not
interested anymore. I still want to get him an addiction recovery book
for his smoking problem though. Brother T accepted a baptismal date
for July 10th, but that date is a bit shaky. He still needs to progress
some more before he can get baptized. Which is okay. He'll get baptized
when he's ready. Elder Lindley's a boss and it's been a blast serving
with him. He's the first counselor here in Surin so he has some extra
things he has to do here. I know that this gospel is true. I don't
understand all of it, but I know that we are all children of God and
that He loves us. As we draw nearer to Him and repent, we'll be happier
and have fuller lives.
